We had 0.0 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours ending 08:30 am today morning, 23rd November 2008. We are experiencing very pleasant winter weather. As the day dawns and the sun has not yet had a peek at the world, it is very pleasant to start out on a walk through the village or to take a walk along the Valley View Road. If you are a City Street Walker, we invite you to take your morning walk here to sample the fresh clean air as the winter chill braces your cheeks. The migratory birds that don't have the caution of the local habitants chirp merrily to welcome the day in. As the first sun rays shine forth from the horizon, as the beaming sun strides in to start a new day, see the vivid hues the sky takes. The forests get filled with the harmonious singing of birds and insects and the discerning person will not fail to notice how magnificient is our natural living environment.

The time for outdoors is here. We have many interesting walks and treks around our place. If you are someone who feels touched by the magnificience of nature and feels deeply stirred, this is a place for you. If the drabness of the City is getting on you, it is time to take off here.

The average rainfall in October is 540.7 mm. In October this year we had only 368.3 mm of rainfall. The monsoon season is over. We are into the post monsoon period. The waterfalls have thinned out. Mornings are bright and sunny. Clouds populate the skies by afternoon. The clouds scamper off before sunset. Sunsets are beautiful. The skyline where the sun sets is now occupied by an imposing mobile tower, that seems out of place but is helping improve communication dependability. Night sky is star studded. If the diffused ambient lighting over your city is keeping you from seeing the grandeur of outer space, we have a clear view of the night sky now in the winter. Bring your telescopes along to gaze at the stars around a warm logfire. The time for outdoors is here. Come and walk around these pristine hills as the first chill of winter braces you in the mornings and evenings. The air is pure and unpolluted. There is virtually no traffic. Walk leisurely and savour in the beauty of Khasi Hills as you tune your body to fit form. The best things of life come free. Let not City Life rob you of the joys of being close to nature. Get your family bonds renewed by taking off on a Holiday with Nature.

Trek to the Living Root Bridges, Swim in Natural Swimming Pools.

The treks to the Living Root Bridges and to the natural swimming pools are some of the best treks around here. The Living Root Bridges including the Double Decker Root Bridge are superb bio-engineering wonders that are very exclusive to this area. You don’t get them anywhere else in the world.

Time for River Canyoning is here. This is for real adventurers and hard trekkers. We have great swimming options enroute.
